The topic of “family” can conjure up a lot of mixed emotions for adoptees and adoptive parents; with the holiday season quickly approaching, we recognize that this time of year means family time for some, but not for all.
On Wednesday, November 8th at 6pm, we will be hosting a unique, intimate event that will create an arena for adult adoptees and parents of adoptees to practice difficult conversations.
Adoptees and adoptive parents will be partnered 1-on-1, round-robin style, and will have the opportunity to tackle topics in a SAFE space they may not normally feel comfortable bringing up with family members, such as: “Why don’t we live in a diverse area with people who look like me (adoptee)?” or “What worries you about doing a Birth Family Search?”
This event is only open to adult adoptees and adoptive parents via RSVP form (link in bio). Space will be limited.

What do you think of when you hear the word “Found”? Also-Known-As is excited to host a Q&A with Lily Bolka (IG: @lilybolka) and Sadie Mangelsdorf (IG: @sadiemangelsdorf), two Chinese transracial adoptees from the documentary, Found. This adoptee-only online event will allow Lily and Sadie to share their experiences with returning to their birth country beyond what is seen in the film. We will explore their relationships with each other, their adoptive identities, and what “found” means to them. There will be time at the end for audience questions.
