March news from Also-Known-As 🗞️

March 3, 2026

President's Letter

Dear Also-Known-As community,

In honor of Women’s History Month, I have been trying to take pause to recognize the women-identifying folks who have shaped my life and this organization. In many collectivist cultures, women have long carried family, culture, and memory – often quietly, but powerfully.

Across the adoptee diaspora, relationships to motherhood can be layered and complex. This month, I am holding space for those I know and those I may never know who have nurtured me throughout my life.

Also-Known-As has been sustained by many matriarchs – organizers, storytellers, community members, and leaders who built and stewarded this community across generations. This work is strengthened by the support and partnership of those within our organization’s village across all genders who are integral, seen, supported, and valued in shaping our collective future.

I hope you are each cultivating the courage to lead boldly and live fully during a time of profound and unprecedented change.

Ahead of our 30th anniversary festivities in April, we invite you to join us for Also-Known-As at 30: A Pre-Anniversary Legacy and Community Briefing. This event will be an evening with four leaders representing three birth countries, reflecting on their experiences and tenures with the organization.

We hope to see you there, and at our 30th next month!

With gratitude,

Lindsay 涂婷
